Don't be deceived by this adorable little face...she has her moments. In fact "these moments" have given Philip and I opportunity to learn over the last 8 weeks. The Lord has taught us a great deal about patience, perseverance, and trust. A few weeks ago, Philip and I were feeling very discouraged about the whole parenting issue...we were tired, worn out, and feeling defeated. It was one of those nights that I felt as though would never end. As Philip was holding Adalynn during the night, trying to calm her, he too was once again feeling defeated. It was then he felt the Lord speak to him. The Lord said that things are hard right now and when we get to Russia, things will be hard too, but He was going to be there for us. We needed to trust Him and remember that our strength comes from Him alone. A week ago, I again was feeling as though we were back in the valley with Adalynn. I contacted a few close friends and asked for their prayers for me. One of them encouraged me that the Lord was preparing our hearts and minds for our time in ministry overseas. I know the Lord has been in the process of making our family stronger. Through our times together persevering, we know that the Lord has a bigger picture in mind for us. His strength has been our strength over the last 8 weeks. What a lesson to learn...and all through a little baby...which reminds me of another small baby who came to earth to give us salvation. What wonderful things come from things so little.
We wish you, our dear supporters, a very
Merry Christmas!
Blessings,Philip, Kara, and Adalynn
