The Weekend Ahead

We are on the road again this weekend. We are headed to Sweetser Wesleyan Church in Sweetser, Indiana. We are looking forward to spending the evening service sharing about our call to this ministry as well as about the work the Wesleyan church is currently doing in Russia. The church has invited us to stay afterward for a potluck! We are looking forward to interacting and getting to know the Sweetser congregation! Please, please be in prayer for us this weekend. The future is so unknown to us as we continue to seek and pray earnestly for our support to come in over these last months. We know that God is faithful, and we are trusting Him fully...but it is hard sometimes. Pray with us as we go to this church in hopes of receiving prayer partners and faith promise givers.

After our time with Sweetser Wesleyan Sunday evening we are then going to travel to Shunem House in Noblesville to spend the night. We are looking forward to seeing Jim and Jeanette again! Jim and Jeanette are our pastors to missionaries while we are here in the States on Home Ministries. The picture above is from last fall when we spent a week in Indianapolis for our Missionary Orientation. We stayed at Shunem House for the week along with another missionaries, the Lords and Emma. We had a wonderful time! This weekend we are of course bringing along Adalynn! We are excited to introduce her to Jim and Jeanette!

Monday morning on our way home to T.H., we are planning on stopping by Global Partners' headquarters located at the Wesleyan Headquarter building in Fishers. We will just drop in and say hello and introduce Adalynn to some people. Pray that Adalynn will be on her best behavior! We don't make it up to headquarters very often even though it is a little over an hour away. We are looking forward to it!

Blessings as you enter this weekend of rest...may the Lord renew your spirits as you spend time in worship to Him this Sunday! You are in our thoughts and prayers!
Philip, Kara, and Adalynn

p.s. Sorry, I had to sneak a few pictures in of Adalynn! Enjoy!

She's getting ready for the sunny days in Russia!

Back in the Swing of Things

We are back to the grind again...learning more Russian! We fell a "little" behind on our Rosetta Stone Language learning after Adalynn was born. I'm not sure why we fell behind. We only had a baby...which in turn means: sleepless nights, continuous feedings, piles of diapers and laundry...you get the point. Anyway, we are back and learning more and more everyday. Philip and I are trying...I mean, we ARE doing a lesson each day, sometimes two lessons a day. I was so surprised and encouraged at how some of the words came back very easily. If you remember from a previous post, I was not able to say the word sandwich in Russian, therefore I decided I was not going to eat sandwiches next year in Russia. Well, there has been a break through and sandwiches are now on the menu for Russia! I said it the other day and was so relieved! I had previously said it about 20 times before giving up...now my new word I cannot say is bread. Somehow I knew the hard word would have something to do with sandwiches!
Here are some words we can say:
man
woman
girl
boy
dog
cat
swim
walk
run
eat
egg
drink
water
bicycle

Please keep praying for us as we tackle this Russian language. Pray for patience, endurance, perseverance, passion, and wisdom as we take time to learn more Russian!

Blessings,
Philip, Kara, and Adalynn
