We also took a family vacation to Wisconsin to see Philip's mom's side of the family. While we were there we were able to meet up with one of our supporters, Ruth! It was great to spend time with her and others from her church over a delicious breakfast! (pictured above)
Philip and I are still anxiously awaiting the birth of our little girl here in mid October. We have a busy schedule planned until then! We are looking forward to traveling to Holton Wesleyan and Mt. Calvary Wesleyan churches this coming Sunday. Please continue to pray for us as we are traveling quite a bit now. We are still looking for more churches to partner with us, so also be in prayer for that request.
I was reminded recently of something that really challenged me as we continue to build our support team. We have visited around 6 churches so far during this process and have many more to come. At first, the presentation and sharing of our ministry was quite frightening and nerve racking, but as we continue to visit more and more churches I find that it isn't as frightening anymore. The thing I was reminded about was that I still need the Holy Spirit to be speaking through me and helping me as we share our vision for our time in Russia. It can't be a memorized meaningless presentation, and it can become that so easily. Philip and I need to make sure we are taking the time to ask the Spirit to be with us and guide as as we share with churches because it is not in our own strength that we can get people to be on our support team. It was a good reminder last week as we plunge into this busy month of August.
We thank the Lord for each of your and your commitment to grow in your walk with the Lord through this ministry!
Blessings,
Philip, Kara, and baby Adalynn
Oh, what a great observation. The Spirit is definitely working through you & Philip. When you shared at Orleans camp that night the Spirit was there! I can surely see how one might get monotonous(sp?)in their speaking, though. I've been praying for you both in this area already and will continue to do so. It is definitely the Holy Spirit moving on these people in churches as you share your hearts that will move them to become faith promise givers and prayer partners. He is so Powerful, actually I shouldn't say it like it's something he posseses. He IS POWER! He is preparing the way and preparing hearts for what your/His vision is in Russia.
ReplyDeleteMelinda,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your encouragement!!! You are so right, He is power and it is the Holy Spirit that is moving in the people and the churches...it is not by our doing or how super our presentation is:) Thanks for your faithfulness to this ministry! We are blessed by you!
Love,
Kara (and Philip)
