The Weekend's Adventures

(Adalynn in the car on the way to Burt Avenue Wesleyan)

Philip and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Ohio this past weekend! We had a great time visiting with family, and a wonderful Sunday morning worship service with the people of Burt Avenue Wesleyan Church in Coshocton, Ohio. We were looking forward to being with the Burt Avenue congregation as this is our first Ohio church to visit! The trip didn't start off as you might think...Adalynn was extremely tired, which in turn meant a crying, fussy baby, we thought we had left our commitment cards in Indiana, and we were running a bit behind schedule. As you can imagine all those things would make you want to turn around and climb back in bed, but we persevered! Once at the church we found ourselves thanking the Lord for many outcomes: Adalynn fell asleep, we were early, and we found just enough commitment cards in the bottom of our suitcase! The Lord was looking out for us!
The service went well, and we are praying for many people at Burt Avenue to join our support team! We received a few new prayer partners, and many people took our cards saying they were going to be praying about how they could be involved. Please pray with us as the church itself is praying about becoming a partnering church. Their missions conference and meeting is in February, so we will find out in a few weeks. The people of this congregation were so welcoming and kind! Following the service Philip, my mom, Adalynn, and I went next door to the pastor's house for a delicious meal! It was great to talk with the pastor and his family! We even found out that we knew some of the same people through various connections! We left feeling blessed and encouraged.
Thank you, Burt Avenue Wesleyan, for the wonderful time we had this past Sunday!

Blessings,
Philip, Kara, and Adalynn
