Michigan

Sunday we will be driving to Union City Wesleyan Church located in Union City, MI! We are excited to be with this church! We will be speaking on Sunday morning encouraging the congregation to join the blessings and rewards that there are in giving to the Lord through missions. Pray for us as this church is a potential supporting church! Pray for the Holy Spirit to work through us during the service.

Blessings,
Philip, Kara, and Adalynn

p.s. We are GRADUATING from our KC training tomorrow! Can't wait to share what we learned with you!

Calculating

We are still waiting on 2 more churches to add us to their support, but here we are so far! Remember we also have a $4,000 budget cut so our percentage is even higher than 74%! Praise the Lord! We voiced in our latest email update that we wanted to be 75% by the end of September and here we are the MIDDLE of September and we are there! Yay! Just think what the end of October could bring?!

We are finishing up our class this week on Thursday. Our coaching begins next week as we begin meeting with individuals. We'll be updating you soon! Thanks for your prayers!

Blessings,
Philip, Kara, and Adalynn

Coming Along

We are 71% funded! This is as of yesterday, September 3rd. We are still waiting on 3 other churches' faith promises to make their appearance. We have already received verbal commitments, so we are just waiting for the churches to let GP know. Our General Director of Global Partners, Dr. H.C. Wilson has been working hard over the past couple of years to make some positive changes for the missionaries regarding financial matters. We are so thankful for
Dr. H. C. Wilson's leadership and passion for missions! We have a cut in our budget that will bring us down $4,000 per year! We are so excited to have this figured into our budget! That means we are even closer to our 100% financial goal! GP won't have it figured out % wise for awhile since budgets across all missions fields will have to be adjusted, and of course this takes time. But the $4,000 cut from our budget is effective immediately, we just can't see the numbers right now! We'll let you know when we can! So, as you look at that 71% just imagine it being a little higher with the other 3 churches added and $4,000 closer!

Thanks for your prayers as we have just finished our first week of KC training. We are refocusing our minds and hearts to again understand the importance of support raising. I am reminded about God being the source of all our needs. We have Monday off, but will dive right back in on Tuesday!

Blessings,
Philip, Kara, and Adalynn

Remembering Life in South Carolina

Russian Language Ministries--the place we learned to speak Russian!
(I have a picture of Philip and I after our oral final in front of this sign, but it turned out pretty sad, so you just get the sign!)

Our dear babysitter, Keziah!

Ron and Nancy who are missionaries to Ukraine

Just wanted to share some memories of language school with you! We enjoyed spending time with Ron and Nancy at language school. They just recently sent us a mug with a picture of our Russian class on it! They are on home ministries right now and are serving with the Baptist Church.
We were very thankful for Keziah, our babysitter! By the last week Adalynn learned to not cry when she heard the door open and saw Keziah walk in. It only took 6 weeks!
We are trying to keep up on our Russian by doing Rosetta Stone, going over our case endings (grammar), and reciting and listening to Russian dialogues!

Blessings,
Philip, Kara, and Adalynn

Prayers Answered

Did you pray for us this weekend because if you did the Lord heard your prayers! Chapel Pike Wesleyan has joined our support team! What a praise and encouragement! We are so excited to have this wonderful church on board with us! Thank you for your prayers! We are encouraged this week as we begin our work with Kingdom Come Training. Again, the person in our home office at Global Partners is out of office until September 1st, so we will have new numbers (percent status!) later this week!

Blessings,
Philip, Kara, and Adalynn

Weekend Travels

We are traveling today to Indy because tomorrow morning we will be in Marion, IN speaking at Chapel Pike Wesleyan! We are excited about being with this church family. Their pastor expressed interested in potentially supporting us. He has to check with their missions committee, so we are praying that the Lord will move their hearts toward Russia. Please join us in prayer for this request because He is answering prayer!!! Just yesterday we were informed that Fountain City Wesleyan in Richmond, IN will be supporting us financially! We asked you to pray about this church awhile back...it has been quite a few months of communicating with this church, but the Lord had His timing! Praise the Lord! We also have a church in Newark, OH (close to my hometown!) that has taken us on as well! We have been in contact with this church over the last year, just trying to get a chance to speak on a Sunday morning...and the Lord provided above and beyond through this church! Thanks be to God!
On Monday we are starting a support raising training through Kingdom Come Training. This training has been recommended by our missions organization, Global Partners, as well as by our area and field directors. We are praying that this 3 week training will help us raise the rest of our support in a speedy amount of time. Will you pray with us that we will be bold and effective communicators?

Again, we cannot tell you enough how much your prayers and support mean to us. Your support during this time is more evidence of the Lord's calling upon our lives to serve Him overseas.

Blessings,
Philip, Kara, and Adalynn

Anderson, IN

We wanted to thank Lone Oak Wesleyan for the good time we had at their church Sunday morning. We had a lot of people take our cards and we are praying that the Lord will be speaking to them this week about becoming financial partners.
We also enjoyed a wonderful meal with the pastor, mission director, and Mike and Valarie after the service! The mission director's fiance, Alissa, made an amazing pasta dish! It was a lot of fun! Thanks for the great Sunday, Lone Oak Wesleyan!
(p.s. Picture above: You can tell the Spirit was moving in Adalynn Sunday morning!)

Blessings,
Philip, Kara, and Adalynn
