Adalynn's Thoughts

Adalynn has a few things she is happy to share with you!

1. She is sporting her "Russian" Doll Outfit made by her mom (me, Kara)
2. We are 54% funded!
3. Her passport arrived today and...

...it tastes good!

Sunday Evening

Do you remember this picture from months and months ago? This is Forest Hills Wesleyan Church in Evansville, Indiana. We are making our way there for the second time! This church is one of the first churches we spoke at when we began our home ministries! We are going back this coming Sunday evening for their monthly missions night. We wanted a chance to reconnect with members from the church as well as connect with some people we did not have a chance to connect with the previous time. We also will have a chance to introduce Adalynn to the congregation!
Please pray for new faith promise givers and people who will commit to pray for us as we start our language training in June.

We are 53% funded...pray that the funds continue to come in! God is good!

Blessings,
Philip, Kara, and Adalynn

New Castle

On Sunday, we were introduced to Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church. We were able to have a few minutes to share with this congregation about Russia and our need for faithful prayer warriors and financial givers. We are praying for this church to be able to take us on as missionaries here in the future. We enjoyed our time with this congregation, meeting the Scott family (GP Missionaries), and teaching the children's church about Russia! Thank you, Mt. Zion Wesleyan! We hope we are with you for many more missions conferences!

On our way back to Terre Haute, we stopped in Indianapolis at our friends' house to pick up a new toy for Adalynn. Our friends are letting us borrow their jumperoo for a few months while we are still here in the States! Adalynn has been enjoying it!!

Passports

Last week we decided that Adalynn needed to get her passport. We want to have it so that in July we can start the visa process. Well, of course to get one's passport you need a passport picture and birth certificate. So, Mom Gormong and I took Adalynn to get her picture taken at Walgreens. They had the best price for passport pictures. I didn't think they would appreciate one of my pictures of Adalynn! When we got to Walgreens, I had to hold Adalynn out in front of a white screen. I had to make sure I was holding her to the side with one arm hiding under her shirt so my hand wouldn't end up in the picture. The man taking the picture took a few, so by the end my arm was sooo tired of hold that almost 16lb. baby up in the air!
Passport picture--DONE.
On to finding Adalynn's birth certificate. I vaguely remember the nurse at the hospital telling me about it, but of course that was along with all the other one trillion things I had to remember, so I stopped trying to remember and asked someone where to find it. I had to go up town to the Vital Statistics office to apply for it. I just knew this was going to take forever, but I went anyway, with a good attitude of course. It actually ended up being one of the easiest things I have done in Vigo county! I even decided to splurge and get 2 copies of the birth certificate! Birth Certificate--DONE.
Tuesday was the day. We went to the Post Office with Adalynn and all the needed paperwork...and money of course. I was sure we were going to have to go back home and get some paper that we forget to bring...that kind of stuff happens to me a lot. When we got there we walked in and surprisingly there was no line. We applied for her passport and that was it. It was so easy...I decided it was the 2nd easiest thing I have ever done in Vigo county.
So, all we do is wait now! My passport (got sent in to have my last name changed to Gormong) and Adalynn's passports should be on their way! We'll let you know when they arrive!

Blessings,
Philip, Kara, and Adalynn

Traveling

We are headed to Mt. Zion Wesleyan tomorrow morning! Mt. Zion is in New Castle, Indiana where we will briefly be sharing about our call and need for supporters. During the service I will be sharing with the children about missions and Russia. We are excited to be introduced to this new congregation. Please pray that doors will open so that down the road this church will partner with us. We are also praying for faith promise givers out of this congregation Sunday morning.

Blessings,
Philip, Kara, and Adalynn

Half Way

That's right, Praise the Lord with us because we are 50% funded!!!! We are still shooting for being 60% funded by the end of April and 75% before we leave for language school in June!!! Will you join with us in prayer and petition for more prayer partners and faith promise givers this month? If you are interested in giving monthly or yearly to this ministry click on the BECOME A FAITH PROMISE GIVER link to the right. We need senders...people like you you who commit to give on a monthly or yearly basis. Please pray about how you can be a part of reaching the Russian people for Jesus Christ. Everyone is called to the Great Commission, how are you going to be a part of it?
